Fixing the Curtains, moving the furniture...

So, now that I have this account, I've been trying to decide what to do with it. I did back up my lj here...and I think it worked (wow, kudos to [staff profile] denise and [staff profile] mark because that was REALLY idiotproof, I think. I mean I pressed a button and...yay!)

I'm really veering towards making this my fic journal. That's what LJ was supposed to be back when I joined it. Rather than a website, I would have my own corner for my fic. But post character limits curtailed my love of using it that way, and...well, as you may have noticed, I can't shut up generally. :-)

So anyway, I imported all the past entries, and I'm going through retagging and reorganizing the entries with the idea that fic related (and maybe fic reccing) stuff will stay here and my rambles about other things will stay in lj. I'm not decided on that 100% yet, but I'm leaning that way. It's like housecleaning. By saying "I'm going through" entries, I've done...all of one fic. But, hey! Many Roads is now in ONE PART as it's supposed to be! Whee! That's one reason I'm all excited about this place! But it's also probably all I'll have time for, at least for a bit.

(Your user tags are a bit borked...)

I am mainly going to use this journal for fandom stuff with the occasional access-locked personal entry. I am actually planning to more or less move here and I don't feel comfortable with sharing much personal information on the net at the moment, but we shall see whether that changes :) I love how new it all feels.

The extended limits on entries is the best thing here, as far as I'm concerned. :) I love that I was able to edit All This Time into a single entry. And when I have the chance, I'll do the same for In Search of Possibilities, too.

OTOH - I can't see myself leaving LJ so quickly, unless the fandom emigrates here en masse. Canon vs. fanon, frex, is certainly going to stay on LJ. And I've been spoiled for Firefox's LJ extension, which tells me when my flist is updated without having to check ten times a day more frequently than I might care to admit. I need something like that here! :)

Good luck on the housekeeping! :) And yeah, this would make a great fic journal! Recoding the Master Fic List can't be as bad as going back to each and every entry to fix up the bad links.

And as an aside, you are not alone in this. I've been rethinking my focus on my shiny new journal too. As is everyone else. :)

I hope that you'll still post links to your fic in LJ, otherwise I am sure to miss some, and I'd hate that!

Hee! You are so my hero! :-)

I haven't decided what I'm going to do with my DW account yet either.

Dropping by to say Hi and noticed I'm not the only one doing the fic transfer-dance. :D

I think the only downside of the extended character limit is for people who read on mobile devices - longer LJ posts tend to freeze my PDA. Oh well, will see how it works out in the end. :)

Hi.

I rather like it here... it's roomy. :D
