I only discovered pi day because my goddaughter (who has no idea of her godmother's fannish tendancies) was born on March 14th. A mutual friend of her mom's is a high school math teacher and geeked out to me. I never forget her birthday! Heh. It definitely only works for the American date writing. :-)
