Hi all!

It's been forever and a day since I posted, I think. Work has kept me very busy. But I do wander through from time to time and comment on posts on dreamwidth and livejournal. But to post myself...for some reason I can't think of stuff to instigate.

Let's see, what do I like to watch anymore:

Good Wife
Once Upon a Time
Revenge (based on the previews on how they answer the finale...um, I may drop that again)

Agents of SHIELD
NCIS (which...I think I am going to drop)

Big Bang Theory
Elementary (I love this show)
Person of Interest (although I'm mad at the most recent change)

Continuum
Sherlock (already preordered the dvd. But I'm unspoiled for season 3!)
Downton Abbey (I was a latecomer, but am caught up. OMG wow!)

I am blanking out on about half the shows, I bet.

Anyone who knows me knows that I'm a BIG spoilerphobe on lots of things. A friend of mine spoiled me about Luke & Leia when Return of the Jedi came out and...yeah not good. So it's a hot button issue.

But this post is not about that...

This post is about [personal profile] holdouttrout and I happened to be talking about the nature of spoilers. And kind of talking in general but about the Holmes stories in particular. As it happens, trout has not watched all of Season/Series two of "Sherlock". As it happened, I had not yet seen the last two episodes of Elementary (but I was watching one while we chatted). And I had grumped I thought I was spoilt on a plot twist for a character, which trout inadvertently confirmed...

And by happenstance, I spoiled her for a plot twist with Sherlock on a similar character...

Yeah. In the same conversation... In the same conversation that we were talking about SPOILERING PEOPLE.

*headdesk headdesk headdesk*

To try and counter this chat epidemic of footinmouth, I quickly changed the subject to favorite Stargate episodes (we both agreed on several). And when I asked her about favorite "Teal'c" episodes, her prompt response was...

"ALL of them."

And as she often is, trout was right.

Again, I am VERY VERY VERY sorry fishie! mea culpa

[personal profile] cleothemuse and a few others have created a new Stargate Awards for SG-1. Gatefic.com is also a whole fic/artwork archive site. And the nominations have ended. You MAY BE A NOMINEE AND NOT EVEN KNOW IT!

Here's the list of authors they haven't heard from yet. If you're on here, or if you know how to get in touch with some of these names, I think the mods would appreciate the help.

I was on the list myself! Wow! The announcement got routed to my spam folder and I never thought to check. I had only briefly noted they were starting up by cleo's posts on my flist, but was too rushed at the time to explore. It was today's post that got my attention.

I am very honored two of my stories have gotten nommed! Haunted Ship and Interference! Thanks to whoever nominated me. It really was a pleasant surprise that my stories were thought of enough by someone to include them in the list.

Congrats to all the nominees! I think voting is starting on the 12th for people who just want to check out everything there.

While I mentioned it in (unbelievably massive list of fandom prezzie links, which...fandom is awesome! *hugs fandom*), I wanted to make a special point.

Thank you so much for the gift of a paid account here at dreamwidth. It was extraordinarily thoughtful of you (but I wish you weren't anon to thank you properly).

I assume it was a birthday present (and if so I have a couple suspects). But in case it was just a random gifting by a guardian angel...I thought a remembered there was a community you could go to to thank donors. Or maybe it was just a suggestion of one. I've run searches and even wandered the dw wiki, but I can't find it. Does anyone know what it was called?

If not, please let this serve as heartfelt thanks. :-)

So, [livejournal.com profile] beanpot's love meme had me looking at my profile, and I've noticed more people on it. I don't pay close attention, so you usually have to whack me on the head to say "I'm here" whereupon I will likely spam your journal. So, hi, new people, and old friends. *waves*

I figured I'd explain a bit about me so y'all know what you're getting into. I think I can count on one hand the number of f-lock entries I make, so pretty much what you see publicly is what you get.

More than you ever probably wanted to know about Aurora and her journal )
And that's it. More than you ever wanted to know about me. Everyone's welcome to play in my little SG-1 sandbox, but no mud in the eye!

Flist, you've been holding out on me!

Why did no one tell me about [livejournal.com profile] synecdochic's awesome teamy goodness story about a Training Scenario/Wargames fun called The Only Winning Move. I *love* training day scenario fics. Absolutely adore! You know how people have AMTDI kinks? This is one of my OTP teamy goodness kink. And one of my favorite [livejournal.com profile] redbyrd_sgfic's fics, Training Exercises was his/her inspiration.

I got so excited I had to rec it right away to [livejournal.com profile] stargateficrec.

And because I'm still waiting for the dishwasher repairman, and I've seen this on my flist three four, five times already.

Sometimes it's ok to pimp yourself out. Post a list of your top five fic-favorites you've written, regardless of fandom or the reason you love them. This isn't about the BEST things you've written, but what you LOVE most. Then tag five other people to do the same.

Meme under cut )
Interesting, my mood right now seems to be veering towards onbase/offduty. I'm sure it's a phase. :-)

ETA: Hey, dishwasher guy came, and he agrees this fits under the warranty! Yay. I'll be getting a new dishwasher tub! (Not sure how I get a new tub but still have all the old stuff, but...I'll let Sears figure out those details so long as my floor doesn't leak and the machine works.) I have hot water, running toilet, and now answers about my dishwasher. Now I can finally go to work!

ETA2: And btw, I promise to stop spamming your flist now.

As [livejournal.com profile] abyssinia4077 mentioned in her lj, heh, today is my birthday. I am very happy to see the past year go bye-bye, especially all the health issues I had. And I've had a lovely "birthday weekend" with family and friends.

I got a very nice fandom present from [livejournal.com profile] pepper_field. Commentfic!

Did y'all know that Darth Vadar is a gargoyle on the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C.? He is. I'm too tired to find the link again, but a schoolchild won third place in a contest for gargoyles on the place. Well now with Jack working in D.C., you just know where Teal'c will want to go sightseeing when visiting his buddy, right? Hee hee hee.
