Five Ways Daniel Would Run (two versions)

I played with an sg-1 five things prompt over on lj land, and came up with not one but TWO variations. Both gen and very short!
Five Ways Daniel Would Run
1. Daniel would run when he was a child. He never knew even if he was running to or away from something. It was just a drive he had. Organized track and field didn't interest him, but just running and being alone with his thoughts helped center him.
2. Daniel would run in the evenings on Abydos. The sun would only be starting to set and the second moon starting to rise. Shau'ri did not understand this drive he had to run. She thought it was another odd Tau'ri tradition, like writing in his tablet or moaning about coffee. It was none of those things. It was just a few moments, away from the papyrus and mastadges and oils and yucca flour. All the things that were history come to life and stark reminders that he had left everything he'd ever known. If he closed his eyes, he could ignore the moons and sun and just pretend he was in Egypt again.
3. Daniel ran in his dreams. Running towards Shau'ri. But doors and hurdles always stood in his way. Whenever he came close enough, her eyes would flare and he'd be knocked back again. Someday he would find her again.
4. Daniel ran with his team. He had to get used to organized running at a certain time and place. Running represented freedom to him, and this was too structured. But he realized a few missions in learning everyone's pacing and stance on the peaceful runs helped intuit how and when they would move in the dangerous moments.
5. Daniel ran into danger. When he saw someone in need or threatened, he never thought it through, he would just run to help, to stop to...he didn't know what or how, he just knew action was needed, and instinct and habit had him run. As Jack pointed out, it got him killed a few times too, but...it didn't stop him from running all the same.
Cat in the Hat Style
1. Daniel would run for the fun.
2. Daniel would run in the sun.
3. With his team he'd run a ton.
4. He would run and use a gun.
5. But he'd run away from none.
He would stand his ground and talk. Some would say it was a squawk. But he'd fight for what was right. And once he turned into a light. Yes Daniel ran to take a stand and would lend a helping hand. But when all was said and done, no need to run, the battle's won.

Would he do it here? or there?
Would he do it everywhere?
Ooops. Sorry. Couldn't resist. After 4 kids, I think I've read one two many Dr. Seuss books.
As to the more serious presentation:
I love #2, because you know he must have had those moments of needing to escape the seeming finality of it all, and I love Shau're's take on it, and the link it creates to #3.
I can easily see #5 being the natural and unconscious result of watching his parents die, a desperate need to save, never to watch helplessly again.
I'm no longer a child - by any stretch of the imagination - but I've done #1 all my life. It came with the model, and having always been a little slightly pudgy thing (the daughter of a man who is 6'1" and under 160 lbs, and a serious runner), I've always felt like a thoroughbred trapped in a donkey's body.
Go, Daniel, go! Run! Run!
